Thanks to Phil for puting me on to this one….its great!
Travian is a MMOG played through your internet browser. Unlike many browser based games, Travian is not a flash or shockwave game, and does not rely on a plugin to function.
The game is basically a simple resource management game, a really simple version of CIV that allows the building of city, building and armies in real time. When you login to your travian account the server time is used to time the construction of untis, building and resources. Through the game interface (very simple and easy to use) you can control your city.
At the moment there are 3 civs. The Romans (always make an appearance), The Teutons and The blood thirsty Gauls! Im only a few days in so I can’t give you much feedback on combat or trading….but the early stages look good and there is already a huge community.

Well my village in travian has grown from a small hamlet……into a not so small hamlet.
My early days in travian where spent being attacked on a daily basis by “ONEBLOOD”. He would attack me each day ensuring I had no resources to build up any kind of defence. This farming went on for weeks until by chance I got an offer to join the Excal1.1 alliance.
With the help of the alliance we managed to set an ambush for the stupid ONEBLOOD…who walked straight into it and lost his entire army
With ONEBLOOD gone I have managed to build up quite an army to defend myself….however I have found myself starting to raid smaller villages to aid my expansion. In effect I have become what I hated so much (can anyone relate to this? Any new managers perhaps?)
So with my village defended I can now go about enslaving the free peoples of Travian!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sup wats ur user name cause id like 2 join u in an alliance cause im sick of bein attacked and need time and rescources 2 garentee a safe expansion. plz help and i will make sure ur very well rewarded. My user name is flavius and im normally on world 4
