Coolermaster Aquagate liquid cooling system

Filed under: CPU Cooling — Justin @ 9:24 pm

For gamers heat is the enemy. I recently had a heat dilemma with my own set-up. Having downloaded MB5, I was aghast to find my CPU temperature was running as high as 92 C. I have heard that these readings can be up to 10 C out…..but 82 C is still dangerously high!!!

Having removed my old CPU, which at this stage had become fused to the old stock heat sink, I began to install my new Aquagate cooler. Firstly off the bat….the installation manual is terrible. The semantics lead me to believe it may have been written in old Aramaic and localised to English by Germans. You need to be familiar with computer hardware terminology to attempt this installation.

That said….once in….it did not work! It started beeping and flashing saying my water levels were too low. After some googling I found this to be a common problem and I topped it off and bob your father’s brother…..

I am afraid I must give it the tums up all the same. The CPU temp is now 29 C and has not got above 34 C yet……I would give the following:

Instructions: 2 out of 10
Functionality: 8 - 10

Not bad over all…..my seems a bit noisy….may have to send it back to the maker!
