I like the idea of making money playing computer games, and I’m not talking about playing a PSP under your desk in work either! Kwari, a Massively Multiplayer Online First Person Shooter or MMOFPS ;), offers to give you the chance to turn your gaming skills into cold hard cash!

Now I’m not good enough to go head to head with the internets best…..but pro gamers will no doubt be licking their fingers at the possibilities Kwari offers! Basically Kwari sell ammunition for their game (which will be free to download). You purchase this ammunition and join online game servers (Please don’t say GameSpy….please). The ammunition (or money €€££$$) is then gained (as you frag people) or lost (as you get fragged). The idea here being the better player will get shot less and do more killing, hence earning more money!

The game is in development at the moment, but here are a few screen shots of the game in action, no idea what engine it is using?

So apart from earning your keep shooting and avoiding bullets, you can also capture the “Pill” (lol). By holding onto the Pill you gain extra money. The player who held the Pill for the longest wins the “Pill Jackpot”, presumable a little more than a handful of herbal ecstasy Well I must say I’m intrigued. Will this generate yet another profession…….stand clear….i’m an online gamer!!!

Gamers the world around are waiting on Bioshock with eager anticipation. Imagine my surprise when I find out an Xbox toting friend has played the game…..before PC gamers even get a sniff in!!!!

This is an insult! A game that has its root 100% firmly embedded in the PC and who’s predecessors are pillars of PC Gaming, and the Xbox “ers” get a demo before the faithful. I’d say there are thousands of Xbox gamers making their way around Rapture now, moving really slowly and standing still for long periods of time as they fumble with their awkward (and non fps friendly) game pads. I’d say 90% of the people who pulled that demo off Xbox live had never heard of Bioshock or System Shock for that matter! One of the developers over at Irrational had this to say:

“I cannot express enough how sorry I am for the wait. Thank you for understanding and your patience. Just remember - only eight days left till you get your hands on the full game.”

Well Elizabeth Tobey, you managed to get the Xbox demo out the door well before the launch date. I find it insulting you gave it preference over the PC version. My biggest fear is that you have “Oblivionized” Bioshock, by dumbing it down with stupidly big menus and a terrible inventory, just so Xbox users can use it, because small useful menu’s are hard to navigate with Xbox controllers!! Tell me you have’nt! Your team of developers should be flogged for what they have done!!!
