Loading ...CryEngine 2, Crysis and the next generation of PC visuals.
Following the recent split between Ubisoft (publisher) and Crytek (developer), the Far Cry title has been in a state of limbo. It seems Ubisoft keep the name…..and Crytek keep the fabulous CryEngine that gave us the visual masterpiece that was Far Cry.
This said it was not visuals alone that made Far Cry great, it had some solid game play to back up all the eye candy. So are we to see a Far Cry 2? The answer is yes….however it will be called Crisis. The good folk at Crytek have teamed up with EA and will design, develop and release Crysis build using the new CryEngine 2.
For me Far Cry set a new standard in fps. It was the first really stunning game…where I was so wowed by the visuals that I almost forgot to shoot things. The early pictures of the CryEngine 2 are stunning. See for yourself:
Now having looked at them you can see what all the fuss is about!!!! Its stunning. If you have a look around the net you will find a video fo the tech demo….amazing stuff. Can’t wait for the game.
