This has been floating around the bowels of the WWW for quite some time, and alot of parties are becoming impatient for its release…myself included. I was researching on it’s fruitition and came across the site to the developers who will be bringing the mighty game to our PS2s.
Some amusing comments by avid fans included with the below link.
I can’t wait…

In keeping with the spirit of Makethisgame i would like to invite any budding games developers out there to post up links to any of your work, have you built a game or even drawn up some concept art? If so please feel free to use our site as a portal to advertise links to your work.
All we ask is that you provide a brief description of your work and maybe tell your friends about our site. Our aim is to get our site noticed as a credible games discussion platform and hopefully we can help some aspiring games developers along the way.

For anyone who spent 60 quid on Doom3, here is another way to waste more money on it. The spooky nature of the sets seem to be preserved, as well as that goddamn flash light. I wonder will the rock have the sense to strap it onto his shotgun. The creatures seem to have been preserved too.
Even with the Rock’s growing movie pull, it has pit fall written all over it. Arguably, AVP a verified flop, was more of a comic book adaption then a movie cross over and had a much bigger following. Where this fell down was the sheer disrespect it showed to the earlier movies in the series (Aliens on the earth already, wasnt stopping them getting there the whole point of the first 3 alien movies?) and the limited audience which it reached for. However, in the first two Alien movies lies the blue print for the success of Doom. Should it be a horror/thriller or just a gun fest with a hint of black humour then it stands a good chance of creating its own cult following. However, if its just resident evil in space, I dare say many will sprint to the shops to buy that add on pack or Doom4?
I have been thinking about Battlestar Galactica and it’s potential as a really cool resource management game. First of all does anyone know if there has ever been a game based on the Battlestar Galactica series and second of all was it a resource management game?
The reason i think this story would make a good resource management game is because the series is largely based around the continuing struggle of the crew to manage dwindling food and water supplies amongst others.
I became a follower of the latest mini series which i believe was a good attempt at making a remake of a classic show. There is something for everyone in there and it has plenty of potential. Not sure what is happening with it at the moment, the mini series was a big hit and as far as i know they are launching a new full series based on the formers huge following and popularity.
I would envisage this game being a multi dimensional experience where the player can choose to take a scouting ship out into the currently occupied solar system to hunt for much needed supplies. They may be lucky and turn up something nice or they may encounter a bunch of Cylon raiders hising on the dark side of a remote moon.
The player would also have the option of examining the overall state of the fleet and control the deployment of ships and resources accordingly. Sounds a bit “seen this before” but i think the option of varied involvement within differing levels of the space communities everyday life would make this an intriguing game.
There’s a new LAN running in the fine medieval town of Drogheda, Co. Louth (Ireland, Europe).
If you’re in the Louth area and would like to find out more about the action go to…
